Policies
and Procedures Regarding Donations

Books
and Video Donations
Holy
Spirit Parish Library gladly accepts donations of new and used
books and videos which are in good condition, up-to-date and of
a spiritual or religious nature.
The Library Committee reserves the right to determine
whether or not donated items will be catalogued as part of the
library collection. Items not deemed appropriate or items which
are duplicates of items already in
the collection will be dealt with in one of three ways:
 | Returned
to the donor.
|
 | Sold
to Pilgrim Books, a used Christian bookstore. (Monies
accrued from such sales are returned to the library fund to
be used for future purchases.)
|
 | Placed
in the annual CWL book sale, or K. of C. garage sale, the
profits of which support these two organizations’
projects.
|
Donors
wishing to purchase new items for the library are cautioned to
check with the library committee prior to making their purchases
as the committee screens all additions to the library.
Space or subject restrictions may deem the item(s)
inappropriate for the collection.
Income tax receipts may be issued for certain items which
have been approved by the committee.
Because
the Library Committee wishes to acknowledge all donations, we
ask that donors include a slip that indicates NAME and PHONE
NUMBER of the donor. Donated
items may be left on the library desk or deposited in the Book
Return box.
Monetary Donations
Cash
donations are gladly accepted, however, the Library Committee
reserves the right to determine how the money will be spent.
Income tax receipts will be issued as appropriate.
