KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
The Knights of Columbus council 8471 was formed in
September 1983 and was named the "Father Fred Cahill Council".
Father Fred was a caring person whose inspiration led to the
forming of a council to continue his good work. The Knights of
council 8471 contributed a great deal to the building of the
church, both in monetary and in man-power.
Presently Council 8471 has a member base of 149
Knights, and is growing. We have a great number of charities that
ask us for help, and we try to help as many as we can. We have
pancake breakfasts for the church congregation, with the profits
going to charity. We support the Handi Boat society, giving the
handicapped a chance to get out for a day of entertainment
(fishing).
As we near the new millennium, the Knights
throughout the world are supporting Pope John Paul with his
millennium projects. We will continue to grow within the church
and hope that as members move on they are replaced with new
members who have as much energy as their predecessors.
