26th Sunday In Ordinary Time

Today’s second reading warns that a heart consumed with avarice and envy leads to jealousy, strife, conflicts, and disputes. A giving heart, in contrast, can sing instead with the psalmist, “Freely will I offer you sacrifice; I will praise your name, O Lord, for its goodness.”

ROSARY: Come join the Knights of Columbus to pray the Rosary on Wed., Oct. 4th @ 6:30pm prior to evening Mass.

WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY: Sr. Darlene Madore, fcj continues with session 2 of 8 on Part II of The Gospel of John: “Bread of Life” – Eucharist in John’s Gospel. For further information contact Agnes.

WELCOME BACK members and potential members of the funeral choir.  We will be raising our voices in grateful song and praise Mon. Oct. 2 at 7pm in the Church. This is an invitation to all parishioners who like to sing (but do not have the time to commit to one of the other choirs) to join us as we practice our familiar songs, learn new ones, catch up with old friends and make new friends. As our ministry is an “on-call” ministry we sing when fellow parishioners have been called home to the Lord, but we practice once a month. Please come out Monday evening, meet new people and join this very necessary ministry.

FATHER JACK’S CHUCKLE CORNER

The prospective father-in-law asked, "young man, can you support a family?" the surprised groom-to-be replied, "well no, I was just planning to support your daughter. The rest of you will have to fend for yourselves."
