HOLY SPIRIT PARISH RETREAT

“Eucharistic Spirituality”

“Eucharist Unfolding”

Come and invite a friend to our Parish Mission Retreat.  Directed by The Redemptorist Mission Team, Fr. David Cottingham, C.Ss.R. and Rev. Mr. Bob Williston (permanent deacon) from Sunday, September, 17th to Wednesday, September 20th.

Sun.  7:00pm  Evening Mass and Reflection “RECEIVE

Receptivity is a key Christian posture to a life of grace. But how do we receive?  What are some helpful hints to being an “open” person?

Mon. 8:30am Morning Mass with Homily.

7:00pm  Evening Reflection “GIVE THANKS

The word “Eucharist” means to give thanks.  How can we foster a deeper “attitude of gratitude” in our lives?

Tue.  8:30am.Morning Mass with Homily.

7:00pm  Evening Reflection “BREAK

How is Christ’s brokenness a saving event for us?  What about our own personal brokenness?  How can we seek healing and wholeness?  The evening ends with the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Wed. 8:30am. Devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help (No morning Mass)

7:00pm  Evening Mass and Reflection “SHARE

Sharing who we are and what gifts we have is part of becoming a Eucharistic People.  Jesus calls us out to a wonderful mission of self-giving, building his Kingdom by our love.

PRAYING THE ROSARY: Many thanks to the 127 people who recently registered to pray a total of 560 Rosaries over the next year. They pray for a deeper commitment of their lives to God, and the lives of their families and of our parishioners.  Someone will be praying for you every day of the year, for this intention, whether you want it or not.  Don’t be surprised if you find yourself being drawn closer to God as these 560 Rosaries are being said over the next 12 months.  May your next year be blessed and set aglow.

RAINBOWS is gearing up for the fall session! A registration and information session will held at the Parish on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 7 pm. Children are welcome.   This peer support group is for children ages 5 – 14, who have had significant loss in their lives by separation, divorce or death. This program provides children with the opportunity to make new friends who have shared experiences and help them to understand and come to a healthy acceptance of what has happened in their families.  Classes will commence Thursday Sept. 28 through to Thursday Dec. 14th.  Please call Maureen for more information.

FATHER JACK’S CORNER

A pastor asked a little boy if he said his prayers every night. "Yes, sir," the boy replied. "And, do you always say them in the morning, too?" the pastor asked. "No sir," the boy replied. "I ain't scared in the daytime."
