Summer Schedule

Summer Weekend Masses for July and August will remain the same. Saturday 5:00pm; Sunday 9:00am; 11:00am & 7:00pm. Adoration Of The Blessed Sacrament for July and August will be from 9am – 12noon on Fridays. Office Hours for the months of July and August will be 9am – 12 noon weekdays only. Wednesday 7:00pm Mass: There will be no Wednesday evening mass for July and August. Our Parish Bulletin will be published every two weeks for the summer months. The Beverly Nursing Home Mass: There will be no Tuesday morning Mass for the month of August. The Renoir Mass: There will be no monthly morning Mass for the month of August.

	17^th Sunday In Ordinary Time (Week 1)
“The hand of the Lord feeds us,” says the psalmist; “He answers all our needs.” Both Elisha’s servant in the first reading and the disciples in the Gospel story who witnessed the feeding of the five thousand saw this happen and knew it to be true.

PILGRIMAGE TO POLAND WITH ROME “Remembering Pope John Paul II.” Our Parish will be organizing this Pilgrimage from April 12^th to April 24^th, 2007. For details contact Fr. Jack at 251-3381. Brochures are available in the gathering area or you can email the Parish Office at pilgrim@holyspiritparish.net. A presentation on the Pilgrimage will be held at Holy Spirit Parish on Thursday, Sept. 14^th, 2006 at 7:00pm.

FEED THE HUNGRY DINNER: The Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring the Feed the Hungry Dinner at St. Mary’s Cathedral Hall on Sunday, August 20, 2006. We need 100 volunteers to help with preparation, serving and cleanup. Sign up sheets will be available after all the weekend Masses. For further information contact Richard.

FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION AT HOLY SPIRIT CHURCH

will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 15^th. To honour this special Feast of Our Lady, besides the regular 8:30am Mass, we have scheduled an Evening Mass at 7:30pm in the Church to be followed by a procession from the Church to the grotto of Mary. The Rosary will be prayed at the grotto with refreshments to follow.

Parish Mission Retreat We welcome The Redemptorist Mission Team to lead us in a Parish Mission on Eucharistic Spirituality, at Holy Spirit Parish, from Sunday, September 17^th, to Wednesday, September 20^th. Mark your calendars for this very special spiritual event.

	18^th Sunday In Ordinary Time (Week 2)
The crowd in today’s Gospel demanded a sign from Jesus. May our faithful stewardship be a sign to others that we, like the Ephesians in the second reading, have laid aside our former way of life and acquired a “fresh, spiritual way of thinking” in Christ.

PARISH Volunteer / STEWARDSHIP weekend “As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” (1 Peter 4:10) Join us on the weekend of September 9^th and 10^th, 2006 after all the Masses for signing-up to share your gifts of time and talent to build-up the body of Christ, our faith community at Holy Spirit Parish. Representatives from all of our parish ministries will be available to answer questions about the many opportunities to serve God through our community. Watch for more details in future bulletins.

Ecumenism at the Parish Level: What Can I Do? Vatican documents state that the attainment of union is the concern of the whole Church, including each of us in the pews. This workshop will explore ways in which each of us can contribute to the promotion of Christian unity. Participants should be familiar with the concept of ecumenism. Join us on Saturday, September 9^th from 10:00 – 1:00 at the Catholic Pastoral Centre. Cost is $6.00. To register call Anna.

PRAY THE ROSARY: On the weekend of August 12 & 13, we shall offer our Parishioners the opportunity to register to pray the rosary, 1 day a week for a month. This will be a total commitment of 4 to 5 times over the next year. We shall be praying the Rosary for “a deeper personal commitment to God” for ourselves, our families and our Parishioners. Someone will therefore be praying for you everyday of the year. Please register to do your part, in our prayer effort.
